Schools and Education
The Washoe County School District (WCSD) serves the Reno community. It is the second largest school district in Nevada serving over 62,000 students. The WCSD currently operates 61 elementary schools, a special education school, 15 middle schools, and 12 comprehensive high schools. Reno also has several private high schools, the largest of which is Bishop Manogue High School. The Sage Ridge Schools serves as the only college preparatory school located in Reno.
Universities and colleges in Reno include the University of Nevada-Reno, the oldest university in the state of Nevada, Truckee Meadows Community College, and the Nevada School of Law at Old College.
